  • @ Iowa Law email - The @ Iowa Law emails will be suspended over winter break and will resume the week of January 18, 2021.
  • Carrel requests – Wishing you had requested a carrel last semester and hoping you can have a chance to be assigned one for the spring semester? Good news! Early in 2021, the spring carrel request will reopen. Look for a message from the Law Library Administration after January 4th. Happy holidays from your friends in the Law Library!

  • Law Library Skylight Project - The library skylight project resumes this coming Monday, December 21st. There will be some fairly heavy equipment required and the Parking Dept will be contacting those who normally park in Lot 31 for temporary alternative parking arrangements.

  • Katherine Finn Milleman Memorial Scholarship -The scholarship was created in memory of Katherine Finn Milleman, a young lawyer who was the daughter of Marilyn Finn and the late Honorable Timothy J. Finn. The scholarship is administered by the Story County Bar Association and will be awarded to a student who is currently in their first or second year of law school at any ABA accredited law school based on criteria that include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Contact with Story County, Iowa.
    • Rank in the top one-half (1/2) of the law school class (1L students who are interested in applying may send applications without class rank. If a 1L is a finalist, we may request their first semester grades for consideration).
    • Extracurricular activities such as participation in moot court, law review, clinics, and other related activities.
    • Other relevant experience such as employment and service in the armed forces
  •  National Tax Law Scholarship Brown, PC is now accepting applications for the firm’s National Tax Law Scholarship, a $500 stipend which will be awarded to a second or third year full-time U.S. law student with a demonstrated interest in tax law. The award will be paid directly to the student, and can be used for any expenses related to legal education, including but not limited to tuition, room, board, books, bar review courses, or commuting expenses.   • The ABA Antitrust Law Section’s Robert Pitofsky Law Student Writing Competition is now accepting applications!
    The goal of the American Bar Association Robert Pitofsky Law Student Writing Competition ("Competition") is to encourage and reward law student writings on antitrust law and competition law subjects of general and current interest. As part of this effort, the ABA will sponsor the Competition which invites editors of law school publications to submit to the ABA Antitrust Law Section published articles on a current topic dealing with antitrust law and consumer protection law. The Competition is designed to attract students to the antitrust law and consumer protection law field and to strongly encourage scholarship in these areas.
    The winner will receive $2,500 cash, a one-year free membership in the Antitrust Law Section, and attendance at the Section's Virtual Annual Spring Meeting, March 24-26, 2021. The winner will also be announced in an upcoming issue of Antitrust, the Section's magazine, and/or Antitrust Source, the Section's e-magazine.
    Each contestant must follow the Official Rules to the Competition
