UI Stead Family Children's Hospital Discretionary Funding Process 2024 | Philanthropic funds received through the University of Iowa Center for Advancement and Children's Miracle Network are available to the clinical faculty and UI Hospitals and Clinics staff to support pediatric research and patient care including: diversionary items, special supplies, equipment, patient/family education, outreach initiatives, and other programs benefiting children and their families served at UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.

The deadline for submission of applications for the current review period is Thursday, February 29, 2024. Awards will be determined later this spring and funds will become available July 1, 2024.

Respect the Space - If you have office mates, try to be respectful of your shared space.
Avoid Perfume and Cologne - Not only it is prohibited by UI Health Care's professional appearance policy, but strong scents can be a distraction to your office mates.
Communication is Key - Openly communicating with your office mates about who should lock the door and when everyone is coming and going eliminates confusion.
Be a Friend - If you have a new hire in your shared space, do your best to be a buddy!

This year's Inclusive Leadership Award recipients are recognized for their outstanding commitment to advancing their workplace or academic culture of inclusion and belonging through their leadership contributions. This may include mentorship, inclusive teaching, program development, and engagement activities.
Connie Phommaly received the Individual Award. Connie is the Program Coordinator for the divisions of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and Hospital Medicine. She is an active member of the department's DEI Committee. Connie helps organize the department's annual Cultural Awareness Appreciation Day (CAAD) while making sure to include different perspectives and experiences in all the initiatives she leads, whether it's recruitment or engagement.
The Child Health Specialty Clinics Team received the Group Award. Located across 13 Iowa cities, the UI Child Health Specialties Clinics serve thousands of kids with special health care needs. The organization is strategically located across the state with a team that provides direct care, care coordination, and family-to-family support each year to thousands of Iowa children and their families. | | | February is Black History Month In recognition of Black History Month, we take a moment to honor and celebrate the significant contributions, achievements, and resilience of the Black community throughout history. Microsoft Copilot is the preferred generative AI for University of Iowa employees. Copilot is a web-based chat interface that can help you with various tasks, such as writing, coding, data analysis, summarizing documents, creating images, and more. UI employees can visit copilot.microsoft.com and log in using a HawkID and password.

This program is designed to recognize and advance the development of outstanding early-career investigators. The nominee must be a Program Coordinator at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Self-nominations will not be considered.
