Important Changes to the Covid-19 Vaccination Requirement Compliance

The COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement compliance is now retired. The compliance is no longer present on your CQ dashboards and will not assign new appointments. The Self-Service (HRIS) portal to self-report vaccination status will remain open for disclosure on a voluntary basis. Anyone with an active University ID may self-report their vaccination status or review their prior submissions. Please reach out to your HR Representative with any questions.

ELMS Update: New Professional-SEIU Adjustments Report

  • Professional-SEIU Adjustments Report provides details on pay adjustments such as shift differential, holiday premium, overtime, etc.
  • Staff members who work in multiple units/departments and whose adjustments are charged to those units/departments will see all their adjustments on one report, grouped by the unit/department paying for them.
  • Supervisors have access to the Supervisor Professional-SEIU Adjustments report, that allows them to see the adjustments that appear on a particular employee’s paycheck. 
  • For directions to access this report go to The Point > ELMS Training > General Information – ELMS A to Z > Reports > Professional-SEIU Adjustments Report.

Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program Supports Teen Through Cancer Journey

A diagnosis of Ewing sarcoma - a type of bone cancer - came just as Forrest Boynton began practice for the 2022 football season at St. Ambrose University. After undergoing 12 rounds of chemotherapy and one surgery at University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center - all while staying enrolled in college - Boynton recently celebrated his last treatment by ringing the bell.

Heart Friends Support Group Fundraiser

The Funky Zebra in Cedar Rapids, IA, is hosting a one-night fundraising event for Heart Friends, a support group for our pediatric Cardiology patients who have heart disease. Heart Friends will receive 20% of all sales from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18. Watch the groups' Facebook pages for sales throughout the day if you can't make the event in person!

Pool and Outdoor Water Safety Reminder

From small plastic pools in the backyard to public pools, lakeside beaches, and private farm ponds, where there's water, there's likely to be swimming in the summertime - and an increased risk for drowning or other types of water hazards. For more information and safety tips click HERE!

 

Ronald McDonald House IT Transition

The Ronald McDonald House is transitioning their IT infrastructure today, July 10, which will come with a few changes:

  • To reach the Ronald McDonald House, please call their new phone number: 319-500-RMHC (or 319-500-7642).
    • You will be unable to dial an extension to reach the Ronald McDonald House.
    • The new fax number is 319-900-7642.
  • New marketing materials will be provided soon with their updated information for families to reference.
  • All email addresses will remain the same.
  • Families will have access to a phone in the RMH Loft and RMH Conference Room should they need to make a phone call.
  • The phone number for the UISFCH Family Room on the PICU will remain the same.

Due to the efforts of staff at liveWELL, EAP, Family Services, Wellness Ambassadors, and thousands of participants across campus, the University of Iowa won the Healthiest State Initiative's Healthiest State Workplace award among large employers. The Healthiest State Initiative is an Iowa-based nonprofit working to create awareness and integrate solutions across the state to improve the physical, social, and mental well-being of Iowans.
