University of Iowa Parking and Transportation has graciously adjusted parking for some UI Health Care staff starting Monday, March 23. Most staff who usually depend on Cambus will now have access to parking lots closer to the hospital. These changes allow our staff to get to work safely and more quickly so they can perform their duties to help our community in this time of need.

What is changing

Together, we have made these changes to preserve parking seniority while also giving our employees access to parking that is closer to the hospital.

These temporary adjustments allow permit holders who are currently in lots 55, 65, 75, 85 to park in re-assigned locations closer to the hospital. These include:

GME Lot 65, and Lot 75	Hospital Parking Ramp 4

 

Those who hold permits for these lots will be notified in a communication from UI Parking & Transportation. Additional details are available from UI Parking and Transportation.

These changes are effective Monday, March 23, 2020 until further notice.

What is staying the same

All other parking permit parking remains the same at this time. As a reminder, this includes:

• Hospital Parking Ramps 1, 2, 4, and Family Care Center Lot remain reserved for patient and visitor use Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. It’s especially important to preserve the ramps for patient and visitor use as valet service is currently suspended.
• Hospital Parking Ramp 3 and Newton Road Parking Ramp are available for employee use per normal operations, with hourly rates in effect.

While these changes don’t address every scenario for every person, it’s a step in the right direction to get our employees to work more quickly and safely. Thank you for your dedication to our patients, community, and fellow colleagues.
