You may be eligible for the child care reimbursement program designed to support our frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To request reimbursement for child care, please send an email to childcare-assist@uiowa.edu and include a receipt for child care services provided between March 18 and May 8, 2020. Reimbursements will be made until the allocated funds are exhausted, so you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. All requests for reimbursement must be received by May 22, 2020; reimbursement requests received after this date will not be processed.
Your child care provider may be center-based or a professional home-based caregiver, relative, friend, or neighbor. Spouses or partners do not qualify as paid child care providers.
There are two options for acceptable receipts – only one receipt type is necessary to submit with your request for reimbursement.
1. A receipt from your childcare provider containing the following information:
- Employee Name
- Dates of care
- Amount paid for care
- Childcare Provider Name
- Verification of paid status – this can be a signature from the childcare provider OR an invoice showing a zero balance
2. Or this receipt template, completed by employee and signed by childcare provider.
If you have any questions about this program, or if you need assistance finding child care, please contact childcare-assist@uiowa.edu. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication during this unprecedented time. We stand together.
