New Clinical Periodontics Textbook Edited By Dr. Elangovan

Dr. Satheesh Elangovan, professor in periodontics, is one of the editors of the first edition integrated study companion book Newman and Carranza’s Essentials of Clinical Periodontology. The book published by Elsevier in March of this year, developed primarily for students to deepen understanding of core concepts in periodontology and implantology, make meaningful connections, and develop perspective. Each chapter has the following four study facilitators: fast facts (key take home messages), relevant terminologies (key terms to remember), core knowledge (presented as infographics, figures and tables) and a case-based learning exercise (for knowledge application in a clinical scenario). The other editors of this book are Drs. Michael G. Newman (UCLA), Archana Karan (India) and Irina Dragan (Tufts).  Dr. Megumi Williamson, assistant professor in periodontics, is one of the editorial board members for this book.
