Iowa Biosciences Academy (IBA) is seeking underrepresented and/or disadvantaged students interested in bioscience research to apply for paid opportunities for the Fall 2021! We would encourage eligible*, talented undergraduates who you are advising to apply for admission to our program.
IBA is a NIH grant funded program that supports underrepresented and disadvantaged undergraduate students committed to pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD to develop knowledge, interventions or technology that will improve human health. With a strong demand for for these types of researchers, the IBA program will prepare these students for admission to a Ph.D. program and ultimately, a career in the biosciences.

Who can apply?
- Juniors or Seniors (must be able to participate for 2 full semesters)
- Must be enrolled in a qualified program (for complete list click here)
- Interest in a research career and committed to pursuing a pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD
- Hold at least a 3.0GPA
- Must identify as one of the following (for complete list of qualifications click here)
- Underrepresented Minority*
- Disabled
- Disadvantaged background
