Building Hours Updates for Summer 2025

You are receiving this message because you are a building coordinator or alternate contact for a University of Iowa building that houses university classrooms and we have not yet received a response for your building. Please respond by May 1.

Deadline

In partnership with Campus Safety, the Office of the Registrar, Facilities Management, and Security Engineering Services, a pilot for summer 2025 standard building hours for buildings with university classrooms (UCRs) is being implemented. Building hour standardization contributes to student safety, efficiency, and campus energy savings. There are two options to choose from, but please note that the second option requires justification.

Please complete the Building Hours Workflow form by May 1, 2025. Thank you for your cooperation and support in making this transition smooth and successful.

Standard Summer Building Hours

Option 1

Saturday – Sunday	Closed*	Closed*

Option 2 - requires justification

Standard Summer Building Hour Dates

Standard summer building hours will run from May 17 – August 17, 2025.

Building Hours Workflow Form

All building hour change requests are to be submitted via the Building Hours Workflow Form. A link to this form is also available on the University Classrooms Building Hours Information page.

Deadline

Please submit all building hours change requests by Thursday, May 1, to allow Access Services adequate time to program electronic access prior to the start of the summer classes.
