Washington Council of Lawyers: Best Practices in Pro Bono: Unpacking the Relationship Between Recognition and Access to Justice
Each year, lawyers across the nation dedicate valuable time to pro bono service to help their neighbors who would otherwise face the legal system alone. In order to keep them engaged and recruit new volunteers, pro bono coordinators are always looking for new and creative ways to interest volunteers. Praise and recognition can be one effective tool if used correctly.
Join the Washington Council of Lawyers at Best Practices in Pro Bono: Unpacking the Relationship Between Recognition and Access to Justice on Tuesday, September 19 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm via Zoom. The expert panel will discuss the relationship between praise and pro bono culture as well as tackle the underlying tensions inherent in centering the volunteer versus those served.
During the program, you will hear from:
- Susie Hoffman, Public Service Partner, Crowell & Moring LLP
- Victoria N. Lynch-Draper, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager, Wiley Rein LLP
- Darryl Maxwell, Director, Nonprofit & Small Business Legal Assistance Programs, D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center
- Cheryl Zalenski, Counsel, Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service and Director, Center for Pro Bono, American Bar Association
