This message is being sent to all campus contacts that receive program of study (POS) memo updates via email from the Office of the Registrar.
At the request of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and with approval from the Office of the Provost and the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, the Division of Performing Arts has been inactivated in MAUI academic organizations, effective immediately.
The Department of Dance, the School of Music, and the Department of Theatre Arts have been moved from the Division of Performing Arts and are now stand-alone departments in CLAS. Course subjects and programs of study housed in these three departments remain with them in the move and are otherwise unchanged. The Department of Performing Arts Entrepreneurship does not have active programs of study and is not advertised; therefore, it has been inactivated, effective immediately.
The Division of Performing Arts uses the DPA course subject. DPA courses have been dropped or assigned new identities and administrative homes with the Department of Dance (DANC), the School of Music (MUS), or the Department of Theatre Arts (THTR, DIGA).
