This message is intended for all campus contacts who receive program of study (POS) memo updates via email from the Office of the Registrar.
At the request of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and with approval from the Office of the Provost and Iowa Board of Regents, the Department of Rhetoric will close, effective July 1, 2026. To coincide with this update, the rhetoric and persuasion minor and the RHET course subject will move to the Department of Communication Studies, effective fall 2026. Existing students in the minor should be placed in the new program of study.
