This initiative, developed in collaboration with Classroom Scheduling and CLAS Facilities Manager, Maggie Vogel, aims to enhance efficiency and improve overall scheduling for the UCRs.

Objective for Standardized Hours

Starting Monday, May 13, if any department needs to REVISE their building hours from the published spring operational hours, we ask that a standard unlock and relock time be given. This alignment will facilitate better coordination between course schedules, campus events, and pre-scheduled classroom renovations to eliminate rescheduling or unlocking buildings to facilitate these campus activities. These standardized hours will remain in effect through Sunday, August 18. Beginning Monday, August 19, the CLAS building will revert to fall building operational hours.

We plan to communicate our summer building hours to DPS Access Services on Thursday, May 9, 2024, to allow programming time by their staff.

What You Need to Know

Standard Hours: Campus classrooms will be accessible during the following standard hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: LOCKED (unless pre-approved for special events)
  • Sunday: LOCKED (unless pre-approved for special events)

Exceptions: Certain CLAS buildings may have unique operating hours. These exceptions should be communicated to Classroom Scheduling and Maggie Vogel. Our team will evaluate each request based on operational feasibility by building.

How You Can Help

Adhere to Standard Hours: Please ensure that your classes and events align with the standardized hours, if feasible, to allow for maximum classroom scheduling options.

Submit Early Lockup Requests: If your department requires early lockup, submit your requests promptly by Wednesday, May 8.
