| | Fall is here and we are all working hard toward another successful semester.
In August we welcomed the third-largest incoming freshmen class on record at 5,178 students, including hosting a CLAS Welcome Party on the Pentacrest. Check out the great photos! We are so fortunate to have so many talented people working in our college to support and educate our students.
With the new academic year, new faculty participated in orientation and many of you kicked off new committee assignments, including the first DEO meeting of the year and the gathering of our newly named Administrative Leadership Team (ALT), previously known as ASG.

Biology Professor Maurine Neiman, who lost her 2-year-old son J.J. to influenza, co-wrote this powerful essay for the Minneapolis Star Tribune called "It's not just the flu," which emphasizes the inappropriateness of minimizing the seriousness of flu and the importance of receiving a vaccine.
