Center for Teaching

The Center for Teaching exists to support excellence in teaching and learning and provide resources to anyone who teaches at Iowa. Attend an upcoming workshop to learn strategies for designing and implementing equitable assignments, creating a sense of community in virtual classes, and more, or request a one-on-one consultation.

Instructional Services

Instructional Services provides project management, consulting, training, and support for software and enterprise level instructional technology including ICON, wiki, electronic portfolio project, student response systems (clickers), lecture capture, and plagiarism detection, and other services.

Learning Spaces Technology

The Learning Spaces Technology Team provides support for the university classrooms (UCRs), instructional technology centers (ITCs), TILE classrooms, conferencing centers, Main Library learning commons, and select other technology services across campus, including Mersive Solstice and One Button Studios.

Classroom Technology Guides

All University Classrooms have webcams and microphones for use with UICapture software for lecture capture and podcasting and Zoom software for synchronous classroom delivery. Classroom Technology Guides are available for every university classroom.

Keep Teaching at Iowa

Use the Qualtrics Survey on the Keep Teaching website for help regarding course structure, communication strategies, course facilitation, and more. Instructors can also attend upcoming events to help them prepare for virtual teaching and learning, and they can watch recordings of previous workshops.
