Fall 2019 ceremonies start on Thursday, December 19, and end on Sunday, December 22.

The time and location of your ceremony is determined by the college from which you'll be graduating.

Caps and Gowns at Carver

Apparel Sales

All graduates participating in commencement are required to wear a gown, cap, and tassel.

Apparel can be purchased from the Iowa Hawk Shop beginning with the fall 2019 Grad Fair through the end of Finals Week. The fall 2019 Grad Fair will be located in the IMU Hubbard Commons on October 17 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Caps and gowns purchased during the Grad Fair will be 20% off! Please bring your student ID card to purchase caps and gowns.

Please Note:

Guests with physical disabilities who have a Disabilities Parking Permit (plate, placard, or sticker) will be permitted to park in lot 46, adjacent to Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Public Safety officers will be restricting entrance to this lot, to only those guests with these state issued permits. From lot 46 guests should enter the West doors.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena does not have elevator access for guests. Guests with disabilities are also welcome to view the ceremony from the upper concourse level. Wheelchair and scooter spaces can be found in sections K – N on this level.

Watch Live

The University of Iowa live streams all commencement ceremonies.

The videos will be uploaded to the University of Iowa YouTube channel shortly after the ceremonies conclude.

For friends and relatives of international students, select ceremonies will be uploaded to the International Programs website with commentary in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, and Spanish, as student volunteer availability allows.
