Get Your Regalia

All graduates must have their regalia before the ceremony. Regalia will not be sold or rented at the venue. Limited quantities are available at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore in the Iowa Memorial Union.

Graduation Support Program

The Dean of Students Graduation Support Program provides financial assistance to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students facing financial hardship. This support ensures that all students, regardless of financial circumstances, can take part in commencement ceremonies.

Prepare for Your Ceremony

Commencement ceremonies will be held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and Hancher Auditorium.

Before Attending, Review Your Venue’s Details

What to Know

  • No tickets are required for any fall 2025 ceremony.
  • Carver-Hawkeye Arena follows a clear bag policy.
  • Plan for traffic delays. Construction near UIHC and Newton Road may affect travel times. Check the Iowa DOT website for updates and build in extra time.
  • Arrive early. Doors open one hour before the ceremony. Your college will send additional arrival instructions.

Livestream Details

All ceremonies will be livestreamed with captions on the University of Iowa YouTube channel.

Commemorative Slides

  • Submit your photo for your commemorative slide in MyUI by Monday, Dec. 8, 2025.
  • Slides are for personal keepsakes and will not be displayed during in-person ceremonies.

Commencement Program

  • The University of Iowa Commencement Program lists degree candidates by college and degree type. Inclusion in the program is not tied to ceremony participation.
  • Summer and fall degree candidates will appear in the fall program, even if they are participating in a spring ceremony. Learn more about the commencement program.
  • Graduates will get a printed program at the ceremony. A digital version will be published on the commencement website during commencement week.
