The RSVP process is an opt-in system. Only students who RSVP as "I plan to participate" by the deadline and attend the ceremony will have their names read and displayed during the ceremony broadcast.

The RSVP portal is located in MyUI within the Degrees/Graduation tile by clicking on commencement attendance. You will receive a confirmation email to your university email account once your RSVP has been finalized.

If you are not planning to attend your ceremony and no longer wish to receive RSVP reminders, please indicate "I do not plan to participate" in MyUI. We highly encourage all recipients of this email to RSVP in MyUI as attending or not attending to help allocate appropriate ceremony resources.

Get Your Regalia Today

The University of Iowa has a new, more branded regalia design to help Hawkeyes celebrate their accomplishments in style. We ask that students participating in commencement use these new gowns and do not borrow from a former student or family member. All graduates are expected to wear academic regalia at their ceremonies.

The Herff Jones online ordering portal is now open. Order online by April 11 at 10:59 p.m. CST to have your regalia shipped to your home. Shipping fees apply. Additionally, regalia is available at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore located in the Iowa Memorial Union.

Additional information is available on the apparel page of the commencement website.

All regalia must be in hand prior to your commencement ceremony. Regalia will not be available to purchase or rent at the ceremonies.

  • GradFest: GradFest 2024 is a two-day spring event that will be held on April 10 and 11 in the IMU Main Lounge.

Deadlines/Reminders

  • You can edit your RSVP attendance response in MyUI until the end of the day on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
  • You can add or edit a graduation slide photo until Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Slides are for personal use and are not used at the in-person ceremonies.
