Planning on participating in a spring 2023 commencement ceremony? The RSVP deadline in MyUI has been extended!
The RSVP deadline for spring 2023 has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023. The RSVP process at Iowa is an opt-in system. Please respond “I plan to participate” before the deadline if you plan to attend a ceremony. The RSVP portal is located in MyUI.
If you are not planning on participating in a ceremony please indicate "Not Attending" in MyUI. We highly encourage all recipients of this email to respond one way or the other in MyUI to help us allocate resources.
The RSVP process is an opt-in system. Only students who RSVP as "I plan to participate" by the deadline and attend the ceremony will have their names read and displayed during the ceremony broadcast.
- If you are planning on participating in a spring 2023 ceremony and think you've already RSVP'd, you can check your RSVP response at anytime in MyUI. If you have any questions, please contact UI-commencement@uiowa.edu
- If you are planning on participating in a fall 2023 ceremony the RSVP portal for that session should open in Late August/Early September.

- Apparel (cap and gown): Visit the commencement apparel page for information on how to purchase apparel. Apparel will not be available for purchase at the ceremonies.
Deadlines/Reminders
- You can edit your RSVP attendance response in MyUI until the end of the day on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
- You can add or edit a commencement slide photo until Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Slides are for personal use and are not used at the in-person ceremonies.
