Get Your Regalia Today
The University of Iowa has a new, more branded regalia design to help Hawkeyes celebrate their accomplishments in style. We ask that students participating in commencement use these new gowns and do not borrow from a former student or family member. All graduates are expected to wear academic regalia at their ceremonies.
The Herff Jones online ordering portal is now open. Additionally, regalia is available at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore located in the Iowa Memorial Union. Order online by April 11 to have your regalia shipped to your home. Shipping fees apply.
Additional information and the link to order are available on the apparel page of the commencement website.
All regalia must be in hand prior to your commencement ceremony. Regalia will not be available to purchase or rent at the ceremonies.
Grad Fest
GradFest 2024 is a two-day spring event that will be held on April 10 and 11 in the IMU Main Lounge. Students planning to graduate in the spring 2024 semester can purchase a cap and gown or begin picking up their orders if they choose the Ship to Hawk Shop option via the Herff Jones portal.
Regalia Questions
If you have questions about the online ordering portal, please contact Herff Jones at gradmidwest@gmail.com or 952-447-4449.
If you have questions about in-store purchases and picking up regalia, please contact the Iowa Hawk Shop at tracy-brodrick@uiowa.edu or 319-335-3179.
Commencement Program
The University of Iowa Commencement Program is a listing of degree candidates from each college, sorted by degree type.
Inclusion in the commencement program is not tied to participation in a ceremony.
Please note:
- All degree candidates are listed in the program according to the time at which they earned or are expected to earn a degree. Publishing names of degree candidates in the program booklet is not a verification of completion of degree requirements.
- Summer and fall degree candidate names appear in the fall program even if the student is participating in a spring ceremony.
- Applying for a degree after the degree application deadline may result in exclusion of your name from the commencement program.
- Having a directory restriction on your academic record may also result in exclusion of your name from the program.
If you have trouble finding a graduate's name, try opening the pdf and using Ctrl+F (Windows) or Command-F (Mac) and typing in the name you're looking for.
Commemorative Slides
The deadline to add a commencement slide photo in MyUI is Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
Slides are for personal use and are not used at the in-person ceremonies.
Venues
Ceremonies will take place in Carver-Hawkeye Arena and Hancher Auditorium. Please click on the venue links for information on location, parking, prohibited items, venue entrances, and more.
Livestreams
All spring 2024 ceremonies will be livestreamed with captions enabled.
A link to the ceremony livestream is included on the individual ceremony pages in the "Watch Live" section. We encourage people planning on watching the livestream to bookmark that page or click on the YouTube link and bookmark that URL.
Degrees will be conferred and graduates who have RSVP'd Yes will be individually recognized during the ceremonies. If someone cannot tune in during the premiere, the ceremonies will be available for viewing on the University of Iowa YouTube channel after the premiere concludes.
