How to RSVP for Your Ceremony

To participate in your commencement ceremony, you must submit your RSVP in MyUI by Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Your degree application and your commencement RSVP are separate. Applying for your degree does not automatically register you for your ceremony.

RSVP Details

  • Select “I plan to participate” in MyUI by Nov. 9 to have your name read and displayed during the ceremony you attend.
  • You will receive a confirmation email once your RSVP is submitted.
  • If you do not plan to participate, select “I do not plan to participate” to stop receiving ceremony reminders.

Planning to Participate in Spring Instead?

As a fall 2025 graduate, you may be eligible to participate in a spring 2026 commencement ceremony.

Eligibility

You may participate in a spring ceremony if:

  • Your degree was conferred within the last year.
  • Your college holds a ceremony during the spring session.

If you wish to participate this spring, contact your collegiate commencement coordinator to confirm your eligibility.

The MyUI RSVP portal for spring ceremonies opens in late January or early February. Visit the Commencement website for updates once the spring 2026 semester begins.

If you plan to participate in spring instead of fall, you may disregard additional fall ceremony emails.

Order Your Regalia

All graduates must have their regalia before the ceremony. Regalia will not be available for purchase or rental at ceremonies.

The Herff Jones online ordering portal is open. Limited quantities of regalia are also available at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore in the Iowa Memorial Union.

Order Deadlines

  • Nov. 8 – Order online for pickup at the Iowa Hawk Shop.
  • Nov. 23 – Order online for home delivery (shipping fees apply).

  • Applying for a degree after the application deadline may result in exclusion from the commencement program.
  • Students with directory restrictions in MyUI may also be excluded.

Action Required: Review your directory restriction settings in MyUI before Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.
