The Commencement RSVP Portal is Closing Soon

Our records indicate that you have a summer or fall 2024 degree application on file and have not RSVP'd for commencement.

The RSVP process is an opt-in system. Only students who RSVP as "I plan to participate" by the deadline and attend the ceremony will have their names read and displayed during the ceremony broadcast.

The RSVP portal is located in MyUI within the Degrees/Graduation tile by clicking on commencement attendance. You will receive a confirmation email to your university email account once your RSVP has been finalized.

If you are not planning to attend your ceremony and no longer wish to receive RSVP reminders, please indicate "I do not plan to participate" in MyUI. We highly encourage all recipients of this email to RSVP in MyUI as attending or not attending to help allocate appropriate ceremony resources.

Get Your Regalia Today

The University of Iowa has a new, more branded regalia design to help Hawkeyes celebrate their accomplishments in style. We ask that students participating in commencement use these new gowns and do not borrow from a former student or family member. All graduates are expected to wear academic regalia at their ceremonies.

The Herff Jones online ordering portal for home shipping is still open. Ordering information and deadlines can be found on the apparel page of the commencement website. Additionally, regalia is available at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore located in the Iowa Memorial Union.

All regalia must be in hand prior to your commencement ceremony. Regalia will not be available to purchase or rent at the ceremonies.

Deadlines/Reminders

  • If your name, address, or academic information are restricted from directory or public release, your name may not appear in the commencement program. Please check your restriction settings in MyUI before Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.
  • You can edit your RSVP attendance response in MyUI until the end of the day on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
  • You can add or edit a graduation slide photo until Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. Slides are for personal use and are not used at the in-person ceremonies.
