The Commencement RSVP Portal is Open

Our records show that you have a spring or summer 2025 degree application on file, making you eligible to RSVP for commencement.

Planning on participating in a spring 2025 commencement ceremony? The RSVP portal in MyUI is now open!

The RSVP process is an opt-in system. Only students who RSVP as "I plan to participate" by the deadline and attend the ceremony will have their names read and displayed during the ceremony broadcast.

To RSVP, visit the RSVP portal in MyUI under the Degrees/Graduation tile by selecting commencement attendance. Once your RSVP is finalized, you will receive a confirmation email to your university email account.

If you do not plan to attend your ceremony and wish to stop receiving RSVP reminders, please select "I do not plan to participate" in MyUI. We highly encourage all recipients of this email to RSVP in MyUI as attending or not attending to help allocate appropriate ceremony resources.

Get Your Regalia Today

The Herff Jones online ordering portal is now open. Additionally, regalia is available in limited quantities at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore in the Iowa Memorial Union.

Important Order Deadlines:

  • March 14 – Order online to have your regalia shipped to the Iowa Hawk Shop for pickup.
  • April 17 – Order online to have your regalia shipped directly to your home (shipping fees apply).

All graduates are expected to wear academic regalia and all regalia must be in hand before your commencement ceremony. Regalia will not be available to purchase or rent at the ceremonies.

Additional Deadlines/Reminders

  • Directory Restrictions: If your name, address, or academic information are restricted from public release, your name may not appear in the commencement program. Please review your restriction settings in MyUI before Sunday, April 13, 2025. 
  • RSVP Edits: You can update your RSVP attendance response in MyUI until the end of the day on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
  • Graduation Slide Photo: You can add or edit a graduation slide photo until Monday, April 28, 2025. These slides are for personal use only and are not used at in-person ceremonies.

Commencement Program

The University of Iowa Commencement Program is a listing of degree candidates sorted by degree type within each college. Inclusion in the program does not verify degree completion and is not tied to ceremony participation.

Graduate Listings:

  • Students earning degrees in Summer and Fall appear in the Fall program, even if they participate in a Spring ceremony.
  • Applying for a degree after the application deadline may result in exclusion from the commencement program.
  • Students with directory restrictions in MyUI may also be excluded.
