Notice of Fall 2025 Course Library Deadlines

This message is being sent to all academic departmental administrators (ADAs) and collegiate administrators. If you don't serve in a role that works with courses in the MAUI Course Library, please forward it to the appropriate individual within your unit.

The MAUI Course Library is the repository for courses campus-wide. Before a course can appear in MyUI, it must be active in the MAUI Course Library. Revisions to course components in the MAUI Course Library affect Offerings Planner, General Catalog, classroom scheduling, MyUI, Schedule Builder, sample plans of study, and degree audits. Consequently, deadlines are enforced for course changes.

Please keep the following deadlines in mind for making course revisions and adding new courses to the MAUI Course Library for fall 2025.

Fall 2025 Course Deadlines

  • Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 - Offerings Planner closed for editing
  • Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 - MyUI Course Offerings available in MyUI and Schedule Builder open
  • Monday, April 7, 2025 - Early Registration begins

Course information in the MAUI Course Library updates MAUI Offerings Planner so departments can create course sections for student enrollment. Courses with summer and fall 2025 effective sessions will be reflected in the 2025–26 General Catalog.

Course Revision

All revise course forms should be submitted before MAUI Offerings Planner is closed for editing on Nov. 5, 2024 so departments can focus on section creation before courses appear in MyUI to students. However, revise course forms can be approved up until Feb. 3, 2025.

The following course components will not be updated once students are enrolled in the course:

  • Addition of prerequisites
  • Removal of cross references
  • Semester hours
  • Course subject/number
  • Independent study
  • Multiple section registration
  • Repeatability

Course Creation

Requests to create new courses can happen anytime but we encourage you to be aware that your college may have its own deadlines. The placement of courses in the General Catalog will depend upon the timing of creation. All created courses will appear in the departmental course listing upon their effective session but may not appear in the catalog course tables until the following catalog year.
