RSVP Reminder: Fall 2025 Commencement

Your student’s big day is almost here and we want to make sure they are part of the celebration!

The RSVP deadline for fall 2025 commencement has been extended to Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CST.

RSVP Reminder for Guests

• Only students can RSVP.
• Guests cannot RSVP or view a student’s selection due to FERPA. Please check directly with your student if you have any questions.

How Students RSVP

• Students submit their RSVP in MyUI → Commencement Attendance.
• They must select "I plan to participate" and attend their ceremony to have their names read and displayed during the livestream.
• A confirmation email is sent to their university account once finalized.

Come Celebrate — No Tickets Needed

• Tickets are not required for any fall 2025 commencement ceremony. 
• Fall 2025 ceremonies will be held at the following venues. Visit the Ceremonies page for your student’s ceremony date, time, location, and college-specific instructions. 
  • Carver-Hawkeye Arena
  • Hancher Auditorium

Note: Carver-Hawkeye Arena ceremonies will adhere to a clear bag policy.

Remind Your Student to Order Regalia

The Herff Jones online ordering portal is now open. Limited quantities of regalia are available at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore in the Iowa Memorial Union.

Order Deadlines:

• Nov. 23 – Order online for home delivery (shipping fees apply).

All graduates must have their regalia before the ceremony. Regalia will not be sold or rented at the ceremonies.

Graduation Support Program

The Dean of Students Graduation Support Program provides financial assistance to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students experiencing financial hardship. This support ensures that all students, regardless of financial circumstances, can take part in commencement ceremonies.

Commencement Program

The University of Iowa Commencement Program lists degree candidates by degree type within each college. 

• Inclusion in the program does not verify degree completion and is not tied to ceremony participation.
• Students earning degrees in summer and fall appear in the fall program, even if they participate in a spring ceremony.
• Applying for a degree after the application deadline may result in exclusion from the commencement program.
• Students with directory restrictions in MyUI may also be excluded.

Action required: Remind your student to review their directory restriction settings in MyUI before Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.
