The Commencement RSVP Portal is Open
Know someone that is planning on participating in a fall 2023 commencement ceremony? The RSVP portal in MyUI is now open!
The RSVP process is an opt-in system. Only students who RSVP as "I plan to participate" by the deadline and attend the ceremony will have their names read and displayed during the ceremony broadcast.
The RSVP portal is located in MyUI within the Degrees/Graduation tile under Commencement Attendance. Students will receive a confirmation email to their university email account once their RSVP has been finalized. Only students can RSVP and see their RSVP status.

- Commencement information: Comprehensive commencement information is available on the UI Commencement website.
- Guest Information: Fall 2023 ceremonies will take place in Carver-Hawkeye Arena and Hancher Auditorium. Please visit our Guest Information page for more information on venue policies, driving information, livestream info, and more!
- Receive updates: Encourage any other guests to sign up for the fall 2023 commencement subscription list to receive updates. Students will continue to receive updates via their university email account.
- Ceremony details: Visit the commencement ceremonies page and find the college ceremony of your student for important information about spring ceremonies.
- Apparel (cap and gown): Apparel information will be sent to your student's university email in October. Apparel should be purchased or rented in advance, as it will not be available at the ceremonies. Additional details will be added to the apparel page on our website when they become available.
Deadlines/Reminders
- Students can edit their RSVP attendance response in MyUI until the end of the day on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023.
- Students can add or edit a commencement slide photo until Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023. Slides are for personal use and are not used at the in-person ceremonies.
