The Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) is open.
The DURIP provides funding for major research equipment and instrumentation that strengthens university research capabilities and enhances the education and training of future scientists and engineers in areas of importance to Department of Defense missions. Awards typically range from $50,000 to $3 million for equipment that supports DoD-relevant basic research and cannot typically be acquired through single-investigator awards.
Faculty interested in applying should contact the appropriate DoD technical program officer well in advance of the October 16, 2026 inquiry deadline to discuss the alignment of their proposed project with agency priorities. Full proposals are due November 6, 2026.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) is seeking applications for the Health Policy Fellows program.
This program offers midcareer professionals a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience at the intersection of health, science, and federal policy in Washington, D.C. The program requires a 12-month residence in Washington, D.C., beginning in September. Applications are due November 3, 2026 | | | New Limited Submission Opportunities | | Description: The focus of this NOFO is to produce insights into disease detection and prevention strategies, burden, severity, diagnostics, treatment, and outcomes of infectious diseases in international travelers. The research should 1) Address public health questions that improve the speed of outbreak detection, 2) Help develop guidelines and recommendations to improve patient care, 3) Enhance understanding of the natural history of disease, 4) Optimize genomic surveillance as well as diagnostic and treatment strategies, and 5) Advance the global health security of the United States.
