The General Catalog has Gotten a Facelift!

In our ongoing effort to align with University of Iowa brand standards, the online General Catalog has a fresh look and feel. Changes include:

  • Updated Find Your Program search functionality.
  • Visible headers on course tables.
  • A new “Requirements Summary” table.
  • A GE comparison table listing all GE requirements across colleges (forthcoming summer 2023).
  • Removed social media links; department pages still link to departmental websites.
  • Image dimensions for photographs.

Please note, these changes are only visual and do not impact any of the content edited and updated for this version.

Upcoming Catalog Projects

As we look ahead to the next catalog cycle, please make note of the following:

  1. We will be reaching out to catalog initiators in September to begin the process of arranging catalog workflow for your pages.
  2. You will receive a link to an updated catalog how-to guide in fall 2023 that will reflect this new look.
  3. We will solicit new images that meet the new dimensions in 2024–25 catalog cycle with the goal of updating them in summer 2024.
  4. Back-end functionality and editing will not be changing at this time, but expect changes for the 2025–26 catalog process as our vendor makes upgrades to their content management system.
