This message is intended for all campus contacts that receive program of study (POS) memo updates via email from the Office of the Registrar.
At the request of the College of Education and the Graduate College, with approval from the Office of the Provost, the Literacy, Culture, and Language Education subprogram for the PhD in teaching and learning will close, effective fall 2025. A new subprogram named Language, Literacy, and Social Studies Education will take its place, effective fall 2025.
Current students in the Literacy, Culture, and Language Education subprogram have the option to switch to the new Language, Literacy, and Social Studies Education subprogram. New students for fall 2025 and beyond should only be admitted to the Language, Literacy, and Social Studies Education subprogram.
