Congratulations on your graduation from CLAS!

David,

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa. You should feel incredibly proud of this significant accomplishment—we are thrilled for you and have enjoyed being part of your journey.

Celebrations, diploma covers, and alumni resources

If you are looking for some ideas for the best places to snap graduation photos or celebrate with your family and friends, check out this graduation guide that is stocked full of recommendations. The college is also offering diploma covers to graduates. To pick one up, please visit the Dean’s Office at 240 Schaeffer Hall.

As you graduate and move on in your professional career and personal life, please know the University of Iowa is here for you. The Pomerantz Career Center offers one-on-one career coaching for a full year after graduation. Additionally, all alumni have access to Handshake, the university’s job board for students, and other online career tools.

Please keep us in the loop about what you are doing! The best way to stay connected is to provide the university with your non-uiowa email address and new home address. With this information, we can share news, events, and initiatives happening in the college and at the university. Please update your information before you go.

Commencement ceremony

For those of you attending commencement, we look forward to congratulating you in person during our ceremony at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at 9 a.m. Doors will open an hour before the ceremony. Tickets are not required. During our celebration, you'll hear from some of your peers. Kartik Sivakumar, who will receive a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, a minor in Philosophy, and a certificate in Clinical and Translation Services, will deliver the student address. Kelby Yoder, who will receive a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, will delight us with the singing of the National Anthem.

If you or your family members have questions about the ceremony, including where to park and how to watch it online, please visit the commencement website for answers to frequently asked questions. If you have a specific question about CLAS commencement, please reach us at CLAS-Commencement@uiowa.edu.
