Hello Honorables,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the One Day for Iowa social media challenges and supported the Honors Program! Thanks to all of our donors in 2021, we exceeded our goal and raised $13,150 for enriching opportunities for students in scholarships and more! And as promised, here's a video of Dr. Spisak getting ice water dumped on his head!

Getting Involved in STEM Research

Join us to learn about getting involved in STEM research to earn experiential learning credits. You’ll get to hear from Honors Ambassadors about their own STEM research experiences to help you figure out the best fit for you! The session will be on Thursday, April 1 from 6 PM - 7 PM via Zoom.

Come hear from a panel of Public Health and Global health professors and administration talking about the various paths from undergrad to graduate school. The session will be on Friday, April 2 from 1 PM - 2 PM via Zoom.

Come hear about student experiences getting involved in research, misconceptions about what research entails, and research in Honors. Still trying to settle on a major? Unsure where to start with course and career planning? We get it. Join this Zoom session with Honors Ambassadors who will help you out with useful strategies and resources for choosing the right major. The session will be on Friday, April 2 at 3 PM via Zoom.

How to Study Abroad in a Pandemic

Interested in studying abroad yet worried about the pandemic? Learn about how to study abroad virtually and receive experiential learning credits! Join Honors Ambassadors and the Study Abroad office for a session on Thursday, April 8 from 1.30 PM – 2.30 PM via Zoom.

April Book-ish Club Meeting

The April meeting of the Book-ish club will be on Friday, April 9 from 5 PM - 6 PM. Since April is National Poetry Month, we will be reading The Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson, which is a novel written in verse. You can find a free copy here. We will be meeting via Zoom; please register HERE.
