Attend Group Advising Sessions with Peer Mentors!
Have questions about honors classes, experiential learning opportunities and getting involved on campus? Honors peer mentors are here to help! Sign up here to attend a virtual group advising session to get answers to your questions, fulfill your yearly peer mentoring requirement, and connect with fellow honors students. Virtual Study Abroad Fair: September 14th 2:30-3 PM
Participate in this interactive program to learn how and why study abroad can be part of your Honors at Iowa program. Andrew Willard, Experiential Learning Director, and Holly Blosser Yoder, Advising Director, will discuss Honors study abroad and the requirements for earning Honors experiential learning credit for study abroad. Lunch and Learn: High Ability College Students with Mental Health
Honors Program's Assistant Director Dr. Emily Hill will lead an open discussion about her research on high ability college students living with mental health issues, and what this means when navigating college life and beyond. Students are welcome to join with any questions they might have about mental health resources, and participate in a candid conversation about how the university can and should support students in this current climate. Explore Experiential Learning Opportunities
Whether you are actively involved in experiential learning or if you are thinking about it or just beginning to consider the possibilities, please visit the re-designed Experiential Learning webpage on the Honors Program website. You can earn honors experiential learning credit for UI faculty-mentored research, internships and jobs, clinical programs, practicums, serving as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or a Resident Assistant (RA), service learning and experiential coursework, and of course, for studying abroad (Once it’s safe again to do so). The Honors Book-ish Club is Back!
Are you looking to take a break from classes by getting some reading done? If you're interested in meeting with your peers and having engaging discussions outside the pressures of classwork, the Book-ish Club might be the place for you! In the past we have read and discussed short stories and novels, but we want to branch out try out podcasts, audiobooks and shorter articles this semester. If you’re interested fill out this form and let us know what you would like to discuss with your fellow book-ish club members!

Parker Dewey Microinternships for 2nd-4th Year Students
The Pomerantz Career Center is launching an opportunity for upperclassmen to participate in micro internships in partnership with Parker Dewey, a national organization that helps connect great talent with great organizations. These micro-internships are substantive, short-term projects posted by employers from a variety of industries. They range from 10-40 hours to complete, can usually be accomplished remotely, and ARE PAID. Create a profile at http://info.parkerdewey.com/uiowa and start browsing! Elections are now open for ARH hall associations! The associated residence halls (ARH) offers a great leadership opportunity for students on campus. We plan events, build communities, and advocate for residents on campus! Being a part of ARH is a great way to network and experience the other side of University Housing and Dining! Honors Student Diversity Council Application
The Honors Program invites all honors students to join the newly established, student-led Honors Diversity Council. The council works to encourage and empower underrepresented students to become leaders, uplift student voices, create inclusive programming and act as an accountability partner for UIHP's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. Joining the council is an opportunity to advocate for DEI initiatives, build a culture of belonging at the UIHP, and become a leader in the honors community. The council will meet regularly via Zoom throughout the semester twice a month. Complete this online application here by September 14th to join for the 2020-21 Academic Year.
