| Promise to the Planet | The University of Iowa’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment, in collaboration with The LENA Project, is excited to announce the launch of Promise to the Planet, a campaign that aims to inspire collective action towards a more sustainable, cleaner, safer, and healthier community.
Through Promise to the Planet, we're encouraging individuals, businesses, and organizations to think of actions they can take to improve both our community and the planet. Once they have chosen an action, we ask them to make a promise to complete their action.
All university students, faculty, and staff are welcome and encouraged to make a promise. Additionally, colleges and departments can make their own promise and be recognized for their contribution to the University of Iowa's sustainability efforts. To make a promise on behalf of your college or department, contact us at sustainability@uiowa.edu. | | | | Discover the fascinating world of plants, animals, insects, and fungi at UI’s Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory! Dr. Roop kicked off the event with an introduction to her career and book, The Climate Action Handbook. “I have spent my career documenting the problem,” Roop said. “True to the title, this is a handbook. It is meant to be a welcome mat because for too long, people have been great at telling you about the problem...but have not been so great at telling what we can do.”
