This email is being sent to all Academic Departmental Administrators, DEOs, Collegiate Admin, and Instructors teaching Spring 2020 courses on campus.
University Classrooms (UCRs) will be open and available as an option for instructors wishing to record their lectures during this on-line phase.
If you wish to use a UCR between now and April 3rd for lecture recording or synchronous distance learning, you must contact your Academic Departmental Administrator to reserve a classroom to ensure its availability.
Priority of reservations will be given to instructors who will utilize their regular classroom meeting day and time. However, Classrom Scheduling is working to limit the number of lecture/capture/recording events in UI buildings to be good stewards of university resources for those instructors needing drop-in services. All UCRs are equipped for basic recording (screen capture plus audio). Not all classrooms are equipped with cameras, so if a camera is needed please specify that in your request so that we schedule the appropriate room for you. All UCRs with recording capabilities will have their podium mic drawer/safe unlocked by the end of business on Monday. We ask you to please leave the mic safe/drawer unlocked.
You may wish to bring your own cleaning supplies to wipe down the technology between uses.
Academic Departmental Administrators
To aid Classroom Scheduling and other service areas, please provide us with a document of all course numbers and instructors who wish to use their regular classroom time and day for priority reservation.
ADAs should please contact Classroom Scheduling at registrar-room-res@uiowa.edu or by using our Room Reservation Form to reserve a room for an uninterrupted time frame for your instructor.
