Dear Herky,
As you know, the University of Iowa is attempting to move all courses to an online environment. Unfortunately, due to the content and mode of delivery, we have made the difficult decision to cancel some courses offered through Lifetime Leisure Studies and Health and Physical Activities Skills. You are enrolled in one of the courses that has been cancelled.
While reviewing your spring schedule, we recognized that cancelling this course would reduce your enrollment below fulltime status of 12 semester hours. To prevent this, we have pre-enrolled you in one of the courses below. This online course starts Monday, March 30. By adding this course, you maintain your fulltime status. Your U-Bill and Financial Aid will not be impacted. However, you do not have to take this specific course. The Career Center and Health and Physical Activities Skills have also added several other off-cycle courses listed below. You are welcome to add a different off-cycle course and drop the newly added course through MyUI.
New Off-Cycle Courses:
- CCP:3103 MoneyWise
- CCP:3105 Transitioning From Campus to Workplace
- CCP:3107 Social Media For Your Job Search
- HPAS:1150 Introduction to Health and Wellness
- Additionally, many Lifetime Leisure Studies (LLS) courses are being offered online. Please check MyUI for an updated list of open LLS courses.
You can add any of these courses in MyUI up until midnight the day before it starts.
We encourage you to reach out to your academic advisor if you have additional questions regarding your academic plan. The University is monitoring enrollments and plans to offer additional online, off-cycle courses if needed.
Sincerely,
Andrew Beckett, PhD
