All Majors Virtual Fair is March 28!
Make plans to attend our Virtual All Majors Career Fair on Tuesday, March 28 from 1-4pm! This virtual fair will take place in Handshake with 65 employers participating!
Here’s what you need to know:
Register in advance in Handshake (this is required for participation)
Review employers attending and register for 1:1 sessions and group sessions in advance to secure times that work for your schedule
You can still attend if you don’t pre-schedule, but some sessions may fill!
Review and update your privacy settings in Handshake
Update your profile with current info: school year, major, GPA, graduation date, and work authorization status
Set your profile to public to chat with employers in 1:1 sessions or set to community to chat with employers in group sessions
Our Career Treks are a great opportunity to explore your career interests by traveling with the Career Center to visit local and regional organizations – you’ll learn more about company operations & initiatives, internship & full-time positions potentially available, and network with professional staff.
Upcoming Career Treks include:
Helping & Counseling Career Trek – Friday, March 31 (8am - 12:45pm, Cedar Rapids) REGISTER FREE
Finance & IT Trek – Wednesday, April 5 (6:30am – 6:30pm, W. Des Moines) REGISTER FREE
There is no cost to attend a Career Trek, but space is limited! Learn more about participating organizations and register to attend!
If you’ve already landed a summer internship with a non-profit or government organization, you may be eligible for a Hawkeye Experience Grant which allows students to apply for up to $4,000 to help defray the cost of a summer experience. Internships abroad, research, creative, and community engagement experiences may also be eligible. The deadline to apply is April 19. Learn more!
Mock Interviews are an excellent way to improve your interview skills and shake some nerves! Check out the organizations joining us for April and sign-up!
STEP 3: Upload Your Resume. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner and then Documents and Add New Document.
STEP 4: To apply to a mock interview, go to Jobs and type Mock into the keyword search area.
STEP 5: Click on the title of the mock interview you are interested in and then click Apply.
STEP 6: Select Interview, Click Submit, Sign up for available time slots when prompted via email from Handshake. Make sure the resume you would like the employer to see is the one that appears in the drop down box.
Might as well get credit for it and learn how to make a plan that involves what’s best for you and your future! Both in-person and online options available.
We also have sections that start in the second half of the semester. Please search for CCP:1300 on MyUI for more information. 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who would like to enroll should email Lisa McKirgan at lisa-mckirgan@uiowa.edu to request special permission.
