An RSVP reminder message was sent to spring 2023 degree applicants with no RSVP response on Tuesday, March 21.

RSVP Updates for Spring 2023

  • We will not be adding any late RSVPs in MAUI after the deadline. Emails from students (except for CLAS) will be forwarded to coordinators for response. You can allow students to attend without an RSVP, this is up to the discretion of the college.
  • If students applied for degree by 4/19, you will have their name card. If they did not, they will fill out a card at the ceremony.
  • Cards will be sorted by the order you provide to us with attending in one grouping and degree applicants in another.
  • We understand for some ceremonies information that is not collected within the RSVP needs to be collected. Please ensure students understand the RSVP is required.

Upcoming Deadlines

Faculty Regalia Order Deadline

The order deadline for faculty regalia is Thursday, March 23. Questions regarding faculty regalia may be directed to Janelle Polley at the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore at janelle-polley@uiowa.edu.

Program Deadlines

We will pull information from MAUI at the end of the day on Wednesday, March 29 for the program. If students want to suppress their name from the program, they should also notify us by March 29 at ui-commencement@uiowa.edu.

Script Deadlines

Please send a copy of your script to the following emails no later than Wednesday, April 26. Scripts do not need to be verbatim, but should include proper spelling of names and proper nouns, along with any vocabulary that may be specific to your ceremony. This will help support closed captioning, ASL interpretation, and create a better experience for the students and those attending or viewing the ceremonies.

Grad Fair

Students may pick up regalia and enjoy free refreshments.

Pictures on the Pentacrest

JoePhoto will be available to take complimentary professional photos of graduates and their families. Free cookies and alumni swag will be available at the UI Center for Advancement tent.

Celebration of Graduates

Kinnick Stadium
Saturday, May 13, 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Eligible students will receive an email from Marching Order in early April with registration information. This event celebrates the accomplishments of fall 2022, spring 2023, summer 2023 graduates and recent REACH Program Completion Students.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena Parking

Due to construction, traffic congestion around Carver-Hawkeye Arena is expected during commencement, so please encourage students and guests to allow extra time for travel and parking.
