NIH Webinars on Controlled-Access Data Repositories

The National Institute on Aging Genetics of Alzheimer's Disease Data Storage Site (NIAGADS) recommends current and prospective users join the upcoming informational webinar to learn about updates to National Institutes of Health (NIH) controlled-access data processes, which apply to NIAGADS datasets.

The NIH published “Required Security and Operational Standards for NIH Controlled-Access Data Repositories” (NOT-OD-25-159) which standardizes data access and security standards for NIH Controlled-Access Data Repositories (CADRs) and for users of these data. These updates, among other things, enhance user authentication and standardize security expectations for users accessing NIH CADR data.

To help you prepare, the NIH Office of the Chief Information Officer and Office of Science Policy invite you to attend one of two live webinar sessions.

Live Webinars: Updates to NIH Controlled-Access Data Processes

During these sessions, experts will walk through:

  • Key updates to the data access process
  • User and institutional responsibilities
  • Steps for compliance

Collaborative Webinar: Building the Future of AD Genomic Data Sharing

This upcoming session is designed specifically for investigators and research teams working with controlled-access AD/ADRD genomic data. Our goal is to better understand how you discover, access, extract, and integrate NIAGADS data into your research workflows.

This will be a structured discussion to gather direct feedback to inform NIAGADS development priorities. The session will include a brief introduction outlining current NIAGADS capabilities, followed by interactive breakout discussions centered on the Focus Areas below.

Focus Areas:

  • Interoperability & Cross-Repository Integration: How NIAGADS data integrates with cloud environments, institutional infrastructure, and other neurodegenerative research repositories
  • AI/ML: How can data be best prepared to support AI/ML initiatives?
