This fall, the Center for Teaching welcomed four new graduate teaching fellows. Meet Caroline Cheung, Austin Holland, Gordon Louie, and Timothy Sommers. 

We asked Sherry K. Watt, PhD, professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs and founder of The Being Institute, to share insights from her research on difficult dialogues and strategies to engage participants in dialogue that is meaningful, passionate, and self-awakening. 

The Center for Teaching, Student Success Team, Division of Student Life, and University College are co-sponsoring a campus common reading of “Relationship-Rich Education: How Human Connections Drive Success in College” by Peter Felten and Leo Lambert.

While students should regularly check Elements of Success (EoS) to monitor their performance, some students may not access the dashboard frequently enough to receive valuable interventions. To aid instructors and students, EoS recently added automated alerts.  

Zoom hosts can now allow participants to select what breakout room they enter and to move between breakout rooms.
