Review for satisfactory completion of prerequisites for students enrolled in spring 2022 full semester-length courses will begin next week. Please review the student’s prerequisite status prior to the following drop dates:
- In Progress UI Coursework: after final grades post on December 22nd
- Conditional-Proof Required: early in the morning hours of Wednesday, January 12th

Action Required
- If the student will not satisfactorily meet the prerequisite and should not be dropped, update the student’s special permission to “Permanent” or “Met-Proof Provided”.
No Action Required
- The system bypasses those with a winter 2021 prerequisite status of “In Progress UI Coursework” and the student is not dropped from their spring 2022 course.
- Students with “In Progress UI Coursework” prerequisite permission will be automatically reviewed after posting of fall 2021 grades.
- If prerequisite is satisfied, student remains enrolled and course prerequisite permission updated to “Met”.
- If prerequisite is not satisfactorily completed, student is dropped from the course, notified via email, and prerequisite permission updated to “Not Met”.
Conditional-Proof Required
- For full semester-length courses: programmatic prerequisite reevaluation for those with "Conditional-Proof Required" permission begins nightly this week (approximately four weeks prior to the drop date of January 12th).
- Departments should review all submitted Proof of Completion forms and take the appropriate action.
- If approving satisfactory completion without the form, update the prerequisite permission to either "Permanent" or "Met-Proof Provided" via Offerings Planner or via the student's special permission panel.
Students will be notified of potential prerequisite drops during the reevaluation process.
Once the prerequisite drop process runs, students should not be given "Conditional – Proof Required" prerequisite permission as the process runs nightly. The student would then be dropped the following day with this type of permission.
Prerequisite drop dates may vary for off-cycle courses (those not meeting the full semester).
