LOI due April 12: OVPR Interdisciplinary Scholars: Radiochemistry Spring 2024 Request for Applications

We invite collaborative research proposals to support projects which integrate radiochemistry with other disciplines while promoting advancements in scientific knowledge, technology, and applications. Successful proposals may receive awards up to $45,000 for 18 months as part of the Seeding Excellence Initiative.

Letters of Interest (LOIs) are due April 12 with full applications due June 14.

Speed Networking Event: Interdisciplinary Consortium for the Study of War and Genocide

The aim of this in-person speed networking event is to build the momentum for the development of an Interdisciplinary Consortium for the Study of War and Genocide. It is envisioned that this Consortium will bring together scholars and artists working in the areas of war, genocide, or ethnic and political violence to facilitate collaboration and exchange of knowledge.

Join us for an NSF CAREER Current Awardee Panel Discussion/Q&A session. This panel session will provide an opportunity to hear from four accomplished NSF CAREER award recipients regarding their experience with the application process, need-to-know information, plus much more.

Increase Grant Competitiveness through an External Review

The RDO assists University of Iowa faculty with preparing more ambitious, collaborative, and successful proposals. To assist faculty in submitting proposals that are more successful, the RDO facilitates external reviews for proposals to external funding agencies. External review of proposals prior to submission will provide critical feedback in order to strengthen the proposal and improve the overall likelihood of success.

Fulbright Scholar Program Information Session

Please join International Programs for a discussion about the Fulbright Scholar Program, a U.S. government-sponsored program that offers short- and long-term research and/or teaching grants for college and university faculty members at all career stages.

Aferdita Krasniqi, outreach and recruitment specialist at the Institute for International Education (IIE), will provide information on the Fulbright Scholar application process for interested faculty.

Rima Afifi to present the CPH Distinguished Faculty Lecture-April 15

“Narrative Change and Relationship Building: Why Love Matters in Achieving Social Justice”

In this lecture, Dr. Rima Afifi reflects on fundamental components in the quest for health equity and social justice, gathered through lived experience and over 25 years of public health teaching, research, and practice. She weaves through stories of connecting with communities and changing narratives to demonstrate the power of listening, seeing, hearing, and acknowledging the complex identities, realities, and contexts of individuals and communities; and the essential necessity of working with love and centering dignity in the advancement of equity and justice.

When: April 15, 2024, from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
