Are you wanting to learn more about the enhanced administrative features of Pivot? Join us for an information and demonstration session that will introduce Pivot Administrative Features. Topics covered will include crafting and saving funding opportunity searches, creating calendars and newsletters, sharing and tracking opportunities, editing profiles, and enabling weekly email alerts. We will also discuss how to request access to the additional administrative privileges.

The Principal Investigator (PI) will be awarded up to $25k to advance their science while recruiting, retaining, and advancing UI students who support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in research, with a preference for students from traditionally marginalized groups. The Earth Science Division covers a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines. Read more about the Earth Science Division focus areas here. Dr Kaye will give an overview of his portfolio, followed by short talks from U. Iowa researchers, and a networking lunch. Lunch will be provided.

Successful proposals must focus on areas of interdisciplinary strength at the University of Iowa that have significant societal impact. As part of the application, proposers will need to identify and justify why their proposal area is considered an institutional strength. The goal is to enable teams of researchers to build on existing strengths to achieve significant growth in the area of focus. For Spring 2023, it is anticipated that up to ten full proposals will be invited with up to five awards made.

Faculty writing about their research across all disciplines and ranks are invited to apply. At this weeklong event, participants will have the opportunity to begin summer by deeply engaging a work-in-progress with the support of individualized feedback, workshops, and time to write in solitude and in community at the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies (111 Church St). Participants will receive a small honorarium of $200.

The goal is to enable and sustain community engaged research and scholarship partnerships that reciprocally benefit the University and Iowa older adults.
