Dear Hawkeyes,
Welcome to the University of Iowa! We are excited to have you as a member of the Honors Program and encourage you to enroll in Honors Primetime which will be held August 15th–18th. Honors Primetime is an optional three-and-a-half day workshop for incoming first-year honors students. Workshops of about 22 students engage in hands-on learning with exceptional UI faculty and staff, and successful completion earns 1 semester hour of honors credit. Don't worry about homework, Primetime is all about making connections, learning something new, and having fun. At the end of the week, students will participate in a symposium hosted at the Englert Theater in downtown Iowa City. All future communication regarding Primetime will be sent to your University of Iowa email address.
Registration for Primetime is coming up on Monday, July 18th at 8 AM CT. You will receive a special permission code to register for one of the HONR:1100 Primetime sections in your UI email account at that time. We highly encourage you to review the sections via MyUI in advance and pick your top three. Since these workshops will fill quickly, we want to ensure you are able to enroll in one of your top picks. If you reached your semester credit load limit for the Fall 2022, the Honors Program will be working with academic departments to lift these caps for students before July 18th.
Further details will be provided later this summer including access to a Primetime ICON site where you can get to know members of the honors community, learn about social events, and more.
Housing: Primetime participants will begin moving in Saturday, August 13th. Housing will charge participants $35/day to the student's University Bill, no cash/check needed upon move-in. For further information, please contact Housing directly at housing@uiowa.edu.
