Dear Rienow Residents,
We are thrilled to share some incredible news with you, Rienow Hall has been nationally recognized with not one, but two prestigious national awards!
These awards are a tremendous honor, and reflect the collective effort of our entire community. Whether you’ve attended events, supported a neighbor, decorated your door, or simply brought kindness into our shared spaces, you’ve helped make Rienow a place worth celebrating.
Rienow Hall Named Residential Community of the Month - September
Rienow Hall has been honored as the Residential Community of the Month by the National Affiliation of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH)! This award celebrates the vibrant, engaged, and supportive environment you’ve built. Achieving this award would not have been possible without our fantastic staff, residents, and community. You can now say that you live in an award-winning residence hall (although if you’ve seen our trophy case you already know that is true)!
There are 200+ colleges and universities that are part of NACURH and Rienow Hall was declared the best!
MJ Plank Named Institutional Faculty/Staff of the Month - September
We’re also proud to announce that MJ Plank, our phenomenal custodial supervisor, has been recognized as the Institutional Faculty/Staff of the Month by NACURH. MJ’s tireless work, care, and commitment to our hall make Rienow a better place every single day. Specifically, MJ assisted our staff in responding to a medical emergency, something not usually part of his day-to-day, and greatly assisted us in our support of that student.
Submit Your Own OTM (Of The Month) Awards!
Want to recognize someone who’s made a difference in your life this month? You can submit an OTM to honor a fellow resident, staff member, RA, professor, anyone on campus who’s had a positive impact. It’s quick, meaningful, and helps shine a light on the people who make a difference.
When submitting, be sure to list "Rienow Hall" as your organization so we can continue building our legacy of excellence.
Be on the lookout for some future events if you want to learn more about OTMs.
Celebrating 60 Years of Rienow
As we approach Rienow Hall’s 60th anniversary, these awards feel especially meaningful. Since 1966, Rienow has stood as a place of connection, growth, and pride. Let’s continue to build on that legacy, together, with the same warmth, resilience, and community spirit that earned us national recognition.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!
With Rienow pride,
Spencer Owen
