Coming Up: Undergraduate Research Conference

The 2024 Undergraduate Research Conference will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 in the Becker Communication Studies Building

The Undergraduate Research Conference was created by students for students to give UI's undergraduates a low-risk space to learn all about undergraduate research. Students gather for a 3-hour conference (with food) to hear from a speaker, learn about what undergraduate research is, and find out how to get involved.

Check-In and networking will be from 9:30 am- 10:00 am with a keynote speaker presenting at 10:00 am. Sessions this year will include

  • How to Get Involved in Research
  • The Value in Summer Research Experiences
  • Research in the Humanities
  • Grad School and Beyond: Careers in Research
  • Funding your Research
  • Resume/CV Workshop

LinkedIn Photo Booth and Exhibit Hall at FURF

Back by popular demand, the LinkedIn photobooth will be returning to FURF. The photobooth is a great way to get professional headshots at no cost. Make sure to stop by at FURF and get your headshot there.

This year at FURF, we will have an exhibit hall to accommodate your presentation needs. Presentations must be able to fit within a 6-foot-wide space and be safe to display indoors. OUR can provide a poster board and table, but students are responsible for any other items needed (easels, extension cords, stands, etc...).

Capture Your Research Image Competition

Capture Your Research is an image competition where students, faculty, and staff can submit one image that captures the essence of their research. The top 25 entries will be displayed at our Capture Your Research Reception and Awards Ceremony. The awards will be presented at an awards ceremony at the Old Capitol Museum on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m
