Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
Diplomas will be printed and released 6 - 8 weeks after graduation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Diploma Services must make adjustments to diploma delivery options.
Student Pick-up will not be a delivery option for Spring 2020 diplomas. If you originally chose Student Pick-up as your delivery method, please log on to MyUI and update your delivery method to United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class on your degree application no later than May 8, 2020. USPS works well for delivery to domestic addresses. Once printed diplomas are taken directly to the Post Office to be dispatched.
To select USPS delivery and update your delivery address, open your degree application in MyUI and click on the (edit) link to the left side of the screen. Scroll down to Diploma Delivery Information. Enter your diploma delivery address and select United States Postal Service here. Be sure to click on the green Save button at the bottom of the screen.
FedEx delivery will not speed up the delivery to a U.S. address due to the amount of time required to prepare each diploma individually for delivery. Although not encouraged as a domestic delivery method, you may choose FedEx as your diploma delivery method. The $15 domestic FedEx delivery fee will be charged to your U-Bill. Fed Ex will send you an email with a tracking number once the diploma is in their possession. FedEx delivery is not an option for local delivery to the Iowa City/Coralville area.
Please be sure to provide an accurate diploma delivery address on your degree application on MyUI. It is also important for you to verify or update your residing address in MyUI to ensure you are receiving physical mail from the University of Iowa.
Diplomas will not be released to students who have outstanding U-Bill balances.
