Degree Conferral and Diploma Timeline

You are receiving this message because our records indicate that you are a candidate for degree for the spring 2023 session.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! We wanted to share the general timeline for when your degree may be conferred and you could receive your digital and print diplomas.

May 17, 2023

  • Spring 2023 grades are due and added to students’ records.

May 18, 2023–May 31, 2023

  • May 2023 degree candidates are reviewed for eligibility to graduate.
  • All transfer coursework and grades for Incompletes must be on your record by May 31, 2023, for your degree to be conferred.

May 24, 2023–May 31, 2023

  • Degree conferral will begin and will be ongoing as degree clearance is completed. Graduates will receive an email when their degree is conferred.  Degree notations will appear on your official transcript with May 12, 2023 as the conferral date.

May 29, 2023 

  • University Holiday, Office Closed

June 19–23, 2023

  • Digital and print diplomas are available for students whose degrees are conferred by May 26, 2023. You will receive updates sent to the email address included on your degree application when your digital diploma is released, and printed diploma is shipped.

July 5–14, 2023

  • Digital and print diplomas are available for students whose degrees are conferred May 30-June 16, 2023. You will receive updates sent to the email address included on your degree application when your digital diploma is released, and printed diploma is shipped.

Conferral emails are sent to the email address included on your degree application after degrees have been conferred and minors or certificates awarded.

Graduates will receive an email with a link to download your credential when it is available from our trusted partner, CeCredential Trust.  Be sure to download and save your credential as this link will expire in 45 days.

Note:  Not all degrees are conferred at the same time. Conferral will vary by college and within colleges or majors if clearance is not completed or applications are pending.

Additional Proof of Graduation

If you need proof of graduation before you receive your diploma, you have the following options after you receive your conferral email:

  1. Order a transcript in MyUI.
  2. Order a degree verification letter in MyUI.
  3. Request a degree verification from the National Student Clearinghouse using MyUI (Student Information > Documentation & Reports > National Student Clearinghouse).

If you would like to order a spring 2023 certificate, use our Credential Order Form after you've receive your conferral email.

  • If you would like to order a printed certificate select Certificate (print; all graduates) 
  • If you would like to order a CeCertificate (digital) select CeCertificate (graduates spring 2022 and later)
