Billing information

A PSEO student’s school district pays tuition for courses that have been approved by the school district and are successfully completed. If a student drops*, withdraws** from, or fails a course, the student is responsible for reimbursing the school district.

*Drop:  A student cancels registration in a single course while remaining registered in one or more courses. The student is responsible for reimbursing the school district $250 for course drops initiated after Jan. 30, 2023.

**Withdraw:  A student cancels registration entirely for the semester. If you drop the only course you are enrolled in, you are withdrawing from the university.

Withdrawal Schedule
January 17–January 22       Held to 10% tuition
January 23–January 29       Held to 25% tuition
January 30–February 5       Held to 50% tuition
February 6–February 12       Held to 75% tuition
After February 12       Held to 100% tuition

Tuition for PSEO courses is $250 per course, charged to the school district. If you withdraw during any of these times, you will be responsible for reimbursing your school district. This means PSEO students will be responsible for reimbursing the school district $250 per course if withdrawing after Feb. 12, 2023.

Additional information

  • Registration in courses not approved by the student’s school district under PSEO will be billed at the full rate of tuition and fees.
  • Auditing courses is specifically not allowed under PSEO. If a student changes their registration to audit status, the course will no longer be eligible for the PSEO program and full tuition and fees will be billed to the student for that course.
  • Grade reports and transcripts will be sent to your high school at the end of the university’s semester.

If you decide not to attend, please contact your University of Iowa advisor and drop your course(s) in MyUI to cancel your registration prior to the first day of classes.

Sincerely,
