Course Offering Updates PowerPoint

Alysha Ahlf and Chelsea Burk-Betts presented information about the course and section information fields in MAUI Offerings Planner. Departments should utilize the new Course/Section Information Review report to review information in these fields, ensuring the information is accurate prior to initial section submission to avoid sections being returned to the department for corrections.

Information about use of these fields, including instructions and examples for use, are available on the MAUI Help Site.

Session Planning Resources Request

Alysha Ahlf made an information-sharing request. If you have any session planning resources you are willing to share, please send them to reg-maui-support@uiowa.edu. We would like to expand information provided to ADAs during MAUI training. Anything you would be willing to share will be much appreciated.

Graduation Services and Degree Audit

Graduation Services and the Degree Audit team are partnering to add an informative note on degree audits when an overlap rule exists on a program of study which may limit a student earning a specific combination of objectives. Course and program of study overlap restrictions can emerge when a student applies for their degree. Providing this information to students and advisors earlier in a student’s academic career will save frustration during the student’s final semester. For example, this message will be added to the Social Justice minor: Students may count a maximum of 3 s.h. from another University of Iowa major, minor, or certificate toward the social justice minor. Phase 1 of the project will be minors and certificates, with major audits to follow later this fall. Updates will be provided in a future SASUG meeting.

  • Fall 2022 Last Day of MyUI Registration without authorization and Waitlist functionality is 8/28/2022
    • Students may make registration changes through the first five days of the semester via MyUI without authorization of an advisor. This option ends at 11:59 p.m. before the sixth business day of the session (Sunday, Aug. 28 at 11:59 p.m. for the fall 2022 semester). Waitlists will also continue to be active during this time.
    • If waitlist is in effect, instructors or departments should not initiate adds in MAUI or approve any email adds or sign any change of registration add slips. To add a student to the waitlist, the instructor would contact the academic department administrator. If a course is off-cycle, the waitlist ends at 11:59 p.m the day before the class starts. At this point approved users will be able to see the waitlist but it will no longer be in use. Instructors or departments could initiate an add in MAUI or the student should initiate the add in MyUI.
