Time and Location

Agenda

Iowa Hawk Shop Transition

Bill Nelson - Division of Student Life, Kirk Peters - Iowa Hawk Shop

Background: https://studentlife.uiowa.edu/news/iowa-hawk-shop-supplier-selected/

The Follett Higher Education Group, Inc., will manage the day-to-day operations of the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore. The official opening date under Follett management is Monday, April 26, 2021.

Faculty will be expected to list and adopt textbook and course materials with the Iowa Hawk Shop. However, if a faculty member wants to list additional outside vendors or virtual sources for course materials on their syllabi, they have that right, but must adopt with the Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore.

When the student logs in to MyUI they will find the Iowa Hawk Shop listed as the sole location for textbooks and course materials.

The institutional relationship with Unizin and ICON Direct for e-materials will not change.

The Iowa Hawk Shop and University Bookstore will be offering additional training and pre-recorded sessions for departmental head, administrators, and faculty.

New Registration Email

Jessica Alberhasky - Office of the Registrar

As part of the new online add process, departmental authorization is required.  To ensure that we are directing students to the correct person, a new “Registration Email” field is being created.  Rose Amelon has been reaching out to each department to collect this information.  We suggest the use of a group email box so multiple individuals can manage these authorizations.  This email will be found and used in the following locations:

  • Using this email address, departments will receive a daily email with students that have initiated an add request
  • In MAUI, within Academic Organization (Registrar tab) under the appropriate Academic Unit
  • In MyUI, with other departmental information
  • In MyUI when a student initiates an add under Departmental authorization instructions
