This message is intended for all campus contacts that receive program of study (POS) memo updates via email from the Office of the Registrar.
At the request of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and the Tippie College of Business (Tippie) and with approval from the Office of the Provost and the Iowa Board of Regents, the following changes impact undergraduate programs of study in economics.
Beginning fall 2025, Tippie will be the program college for all undergraduate economics programs. This change will align the program college with the curricular college and academic unit. The BBA, MA, and PhD in economics are not changing.
Current BA and BS students in economics will transition from CLAS to Tippie, maintaining the same requirements of the degree to which they were admitted. Future economics students applying for fall 2025 and beyond should only be admitted to Tippie. Economics programs of study with CLAS will be ended, effective fall 2025.

The following programs of study are not admitting students but have been created to accommodate the program college change for students who have not yet completed their degree.
